Waterloo
Waterloo 16/17 June 2012.
Due to circumstances beyond anyones control this will be the smallest Waterloo for many years.
Numbers are limited. The British Army will be 250 strong with 15 mounted troops. There will be no British Artillery.
A Division may field up to 75 persons.
B Division may field up to 75 persons.
C Division may field up to 75 persons.
There will be up to 25 persons in Living History roles.
The British Camp will be at The Lion Mound. Hougoumount and the land around it will be inexcessable.
There should be around 100 Dutch and Brunswick troops under Jak Draak, probably quartered at Genappe..
The French will probably number 200, also with a gun and mounted troops. under Franky Simon.
Thursday 14th June.
It is hoped that as usual people can start to arrive on the thursday and pitch tents; I am awaiting confirmation of this as the camp site is not at Hougoumont Farm as in previous years but ajacent to the Butte du Lion.
Friday 15th June.
The site will be open for arrivals as usual. The plans of the Camp have not been arranged yet and I will post this as soon as it is finalised. The normal checking in and Camp regulatons will apply. Car parking area will also be arranged.
A C.O.'s meeting will take place in the evening .There will be a meeting near the Beer Tent in the Allied Camp for ALL Divisional Commanders, Unit Commanders not attached to Divisions and ALL Army and Divisional Staff personel.
Due to the proximity of the local aminities there will most likely be no beer tent or bar on the site. Should this change I will inform.
Saturday 16th June.
Living history and drill displays will be carried out all day. The camp will officially close at 23.00 hrs. Due to the proximity of the camp site to the cross roads at St. Jean we can expect many more public. They will be allowed on site until late evening. Unit Commanders are asked to think up scenarios to perform throughout the day; the sponsors will be judging us with 2015 in mind.
At 12.00hrs
The Service of Rememberance will be held.
Between 12.00hrs and 13.00hrs. The site will not be at Hougoumont, negotiations are taking place for another site to be used.
The Duke of Wellington will host a lunch.
There is the possibility of a Tourchlight procession over to Hougoumont in the evening.
