Treaty of Ghent

On the 24th of December 1814 diplomats from Great Britian and The United States of America signed the Treaty of Ghent in The Netherlands.
Although this treaty 'officially' ended the war it was some time before the information reached the troops in the field. The Americian victory at New Orleans and the British capture of Fort Bowyer both happened after the peace had been signed.
