Marshal Laurent Gouvion St Cyr born.

On the 13th of May 1764 Laurent Gouvion St Cyr was born. As a young man he went to Rome to study painting.
In 1815 St Cyr appealed to King Louis XVIII to have Ney deported rather than executed.
