Thursday, 5 February 1818
On the 5th of Feburary 1818 King Charles XIV of Sweden was crowned. Previously one of Napoleons Marshalls, Jean-Baptiste Jules Bernadotte now know as Charles-Jean became a king.
After being 'elected' Crown Prince 8 years before and 'adopted by Charles XIII the Frenchman ascended the Swedish throne...and his descendants still occupy it.
