The future Emma Hamilton was born Emy Lyon on the twenty-sixth of April 1765. Her father Henry is listed as 'Smith of Ness' on her baptismal certificate, her mother was Mary. The family lived in the hamlet of Denhall in the Parish of Neston near Ness and overlooking the Dee estuary on the Wirral Peninsula,
