Monday, 22 August 1808
On the 22nd of August 1808 and after the battles of Rolica and Vimiero British commanders Burrard and Dalrymple signed the Convention of Cintra. This agreement rid Portugal of the French by putting them all,[Arms, Colours, and Loot] on to Royal Navy ships and sailing them back to France.
