Battle of Sabugal

Monday, 4 March 1811
On the 4th of March 1811 the battle of Sabugal was fought between the troops of Wellington advancing from Torres Vedras and those of Massena, who was retreating. Fog and torrential rain caused confusion, and despite loosing almost 1000 men to the Allies 200 the French were able to use to carry on with their withdrawal.
